Put Windows on another disk without reinstall

Hey guys, I'm buying an SSD today and I would like to know if there is any way to transfer the windows installation on my HDD (installed less than a week ago) to the SSD without having to reinstall ? If not, will I have problem with my activation key since I activated Windows on the HDD (genius that I am).

You can clone the HDD contents onto the SSD, pretty much straight up copying everything.

Otherwise, the key isnt specific to the HDD. If you bought an OEM license, its restricted to mobo and CPU.

no. he needs to clone the partition. some ssd (samsung) come with cloning software but you can get free stuff on the internet. google is your friend.

I have used AOMEI Backupper what ssd are you getting? Some of the ssds come with their own software like samsungs.

One more question, will I have issues with the size of the drives ? I have windows installed on a 720GB partition and I bought a 240GB SSD

If you have less than 240gb of data on that partition it will work.
