So, recently I borrowed a Nikon 58 I think it was from a friend briefly to take some photos and I really enjoyed it. I like taking photos and the camera is a major part in allot of my tech purchases.

So I have decided to buy a DSLR, but here is the big question. What one?

I have been reading up on some reviews and watching youtube videos and I have it down to this, I enjoy the DSLR idea which the manual focus and the size is a non issue for me, But I do like the idea of the mirror-less cameras, such as the Sony a5000 and a6000. I have managed to narrow the cameras down to roughly three. The sony a5000, the canon 100D or the Cannon 1200D.

I am open to suggestions but i have around £350(GBP)/$520(USD) to spend and that can include any more required or recommended glass. SD cards/ Carry cases can be bought at very little expense.

Bare in mind I only will use this for light use, general holidays and if I am out and about and lucky to have it on me, size to me is not an issue but smaller the better, this will be my first DSLR camera so it needs to be easy to use and clear to understand and get started with.

Can anyone help or suggest the one to go for or an alternative?

Thank you!

SNIP

As a self confessed mirrorless and sony fanboy - that is the way I would go

BUT - the Nikon D3200 is probably the best bang for buck DSLR, and has a much wider range of lenses, flashes and accessories and still a small camera

If you want to go mirrorless id save up more for an A6000

Oo camera stuff. The a6000 is not a dslr. It is mirrorless. I like the a5000 but have never touched the other two.

I prefer more the looks of a Canon Camera, so what in the Canon Range is as close to the Nikon D3200?

Nothing

the looks? who cares, its a camera, and you are on a budget, may as well get the best tool for your money

Nikon and Sony are currently blowing Canon out of the water
