IDE to SATA help?

So I got the IDE to SATA adapter, but it doesn't seem to detect the drive in the bios, or on the computer itself. The little light it on on the adapter, but it wont connect the drives. I have it plugged in right and all of that, but I just don't seem to know what is wrong.

Those things are a waste of money.   Just go and buy a sata drive.  What type of drive is this for?

No the thing is that I need to get some important files off of this IDE drive.

Are you sure the Hard Drive is working?  Did you plug the adapter in correctly?  Can you flip the adapter over?

 

You should also try an IDE to USB adapter.
