I just built a brand new computer. When I turn on the power, the cpu fan, the other fan, and the psu fan start the spin for about 20 seconds then shut off. Then turn back on. They do this over and over and nothing shows up on the screen. Everything is plugged in correctly and the outlet is working. It has a 430 watt psu, 2gb of ram, a   GIGABYTE GA-H81M-HD, and a   Intel Celeron G1840 Haswell Dual-Core 2.8 GHz LGA 1150 53W BX80646G1840 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics .

Sounds like an automatic shutdown due to an overheated component. My guess is the processor. Have you tried re-seating and/or reapplying thermal paste? If there's even a small gap between the cooler and the processor, that can be enough to generate enough to heat and trigger a shutdown. Just a guess though.

i thought that too, but when i lifted up the heat sync there was plenty of thermal paste on the cpu. (not too much though)

Try unplugging everything. Hard drives, usb devices, everything that isn't absolutely required to boot into the BIOS. See if you get anything going that way.

If you can get into the bios, start plugging things back in one at a time.

it was already like that.

The motherboard needs a BIOS update to support the processor.

Either that or it is RAM/CPU related.

Unlikely. That processor has been supported since the 2014 BIOS update for that board.

I'm banking on the CPU being dead.
