Hi, i just built a new pc and i had windows downloaded onto a hard drive (just a 60gb one) and i installed windows 7 to the 120gb ssd in my pc. For some reason after i had finished the install etc the pc will only boot onto windows if the 60gb hard drive with windows download on it is plugged into the pc. If i unplug the drive it just says nothing to boot from. Ive tried selecting the ssd as first priority and it doesnt work. any help would be much appreciated.

That just shows that somehow the windows was installed on the hard drive, not SSD. Check BIOS to see if your SSD is visible in there.

Try installing windows through USB

Does the hard drive have the same folders (windows, program files, users, etc)...

I'm 90% sure the windows was installed on the hard drive and the SSD was also used to installed windows, but that copy is corrupted or something

No just make sure that the hard drive doesn't contain any copy of windows. Format it if you can, but I don't think you want to.

Also format the SSD and try to install a fresh copy of windows on it again.
