Hi guys! Today I need help with my main display. I'm very frustrated and can't seem to get my display fixed. Earlier today my main display(BenQ GW2255) was working fine. I decided to disconnect it from my PC and connect it to my Wii U to do a factory reset. I did what I was going to do, and when I connect it back to the PC, it wouldn't recognize it. I use a Single link DVI-D cable and a DVI to HDMI adapter for the consoles. I can connect the monitor to any console and it works fine, but it doesn't on the PC.However, the PC recognizes it via VGA, but not by DVI. I tried another monitor and the cable works fine. I.m very frustrated and don't know what else to do. Any help will greatly appreciated! Also, I did a clean install of my graphics driver and nothing. Also, I don't use the adapter to connect to the PC, just the DVI cable. Thanks in advance!

Did you feel any static when you disconnected the cable? You might've killed the DVI port. That happened to the HDMI connector on my Geforce 210 (the other two connectors, dvi and vga still work perfectly) tried a variety of cables and displays and the HDMI still wouldn't work. You unfortunately might have to settle with VGA for now :(

You mean the port from the GPU? I'm currently using the DVI to VGA adapter that came with the graphics card to connect my second minitor and its working fine, but Dvi to Dvi with no adapter doesn't seem to work with my main monitor. :/

Ohhhh. Does the DVI port on said main monitor work when connected to another dvi output? The port might have died. If not then it's definitely a cable problem

Ok, the DVI port of the monitor works when I connect a console(Xbox One/Wii u), but when I connect it to pc it say no signal detected. I connect that cable to my second monitor and it works. Also I connected my pc to the livingroom TV via hdmi and it works too. Not sure whats wrong... Wheather I need a new monitor or a new GPU. :/
