Trouble Choosing a GPU Setup

ALRIGHT, HERE'S MY PROBLEM: I currently am running two GTX 760s in SLI and basically getting GTX 970 performance.  I want to buy a 2560x1080 ultrawide monitor.  Can I run newer games at max at 75 fps at that res with the 760s or should I get an RX 480?

760s are old

and also multi-GPU sucks

so yeah, sell them and buy a 480 IMO

Alright, thats what I was planning.  I have them up for $200 on eBay ATM and hopefully someone buys them :P already have 3 watchers in under 12 hours, so I hope they sell.  I'm just not sure if I want a reference 480 but I do't wanna be without a GPU for very long...  Any idea when the aftermarket cooled cards will be released?

No worries.  Just letting you know I fixed up the 970 mistake in the OP for you :)

While I'm here, I agree with @Enderman, especially if you can basically trade for a 480 (sell your current cards and grab that both for $200).  I would have to add however that I don't think you'll be maxing every game at 21:9 1080p at 75 fps.  You'd probably need a 1070 or better for that, just by gut (but if someone has benchmarks to the contrary, whip 'em out! :P)

They are a seemingly compelling option for that right now, but only time will tell for sure.  Plus, dual GPU again... idk it's up to you :P

If you've liked it so far, then by all means keep using it!  We just tend to caution newcomers and suggest they avoid it if possible.
