How Is My Build?

MDH

This is my build in AUD. I'm planning to add a RX 480 so pretend the HD 5450 is a 480 which I've added a custom price of $300.

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/9smXLD

My questions are:

 - Could there be any improvments? (I'm looking to get the best possible price to performance PC)

 - It seems like the 7650K is really cheap for it's performance but is that including it's intergrated grpahics? (I compared it to my i5 4570 which costs sysnificantly more but it still won in overall performance)

Any replies would be greatly appreciated! :D

What do you think about the 7650K? It's really cheap and gets a really good score on CPUBoss. I really like your build btw :D

it's fine for budget builds, but i think its gonna bottleneck the rx 480.

Do you use CPU Boss for comparing CPU's?

CPUBoss is a misleading piece of crap website, and it's completely inaccurate in terms of performance. Should never be used for comparing various CPUs.

Really? I've always used it as a source of comparing CPUs and GPUs, what would you recommend instead?

Expect 480 to be ~330 in aus

Well it's $200USD/$270AUD plus around $30 shipping right? That seems fair.

go check professional reviews of cpus instead of using cpuboss.

Really? Because if you look at this http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-4570-vs-AMD-A8-7650K comparison the A8 processor does better in performance for half the price.

It does not. Look at third-party benchmarks from professional reviewers.

___Boss is usually regarded universally as a inaccurate source of information.

Passmark isn't all that reliable for comparing CPUs. Valid, yes. But incomplete.

Passmark is highly multithreaded optimized, which isn't realistic for desktop and gaming usage.

Generally I use multiple sources, but I definitely prefer Anandtech as they get into the more technical details if you enjoy that kind of stuff, but they're also very thorough with processors. Here's a review on the 7600 and 7850k.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7677/amd-kaveri-review-a8-7600-a10-7850k/11

They show multiple use case scenarios but shockingly don't have gaming tests with a proper dedicated GPU.

Anyway, here's my recommendation of the build. You can likely survive without an optical drive, if not harvest one from another machine.

Oh right, 960's still a solid card. I've got a 660 and I'm only just thinking about upgrading.
