what's your budget? an fx8350 isn't really good for games anymore. and wait for the Rx 480 if possible. also, you don't need that crazy 750w psu, a 500-600w psu will do fine.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

ancient architecture, low instructions per clock. it was made to compete with intel's 2nd gen core cpus, not skylake.

Alright I have a build for you. If you're in the US. Included a monitor upgrade since 1080p gaming is a much better experience.

Actually, I do believe with your budget you're paying too much for a CPU. The i3 will serve you for games very well and the upcoming RX 470 graphics card will give you great framerates at high settings in 1080p.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I'm frequently being let down by my i3, even when I play minecraft (ofc minecraft is very cpu intensive but still). Will look into the parts u suggested! Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz is the cpu I have.

There are different i3s with different performance and if your i3 is pretty old it will certainly lag in games. What model is it?

I can play minecraft just fine in my 2011 i3-2100 except whenever I'm flying around very quickly cuz then the game can't create chunks quick enough

Mine is Intel Core i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz. But I am recommended for a 4 core processor frequently. I want smooth, 60fps on low settings Just Cause 3 for under 600 dollars maximum. If I upgraded almost everything except my CPU, would I be able to achieve that?

The thing is, with 600 dollars you can get 60fps on mid settings and a monitor upgrade, notice how I included a monitor in the build?

I'm not sure, the case is a good enough case, don't know exactly what it is. In system information it says inspiron 620? I have since upgraded the graphics card to a GeForce GT 610. That's all I have changed that I know of.

dell inspiron 620? can you go to control panel and check device manager, see how much ram, what cpu are you using? and also check the model and wattage of the psu? maybe you just need an upgrade instead of an overhaul.

8gb ram, Intel Core i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz, not sure wattage. I want to build one, but maybe I could still reuse the Hard drive/processor?

Either way I'm going to bed, will respond in the morning.

if you want to save money, you can find a used 2nd or 3rd gen i5/i7 and replace the psu if you have to(and if possible). the ssd might need a 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor to fit.

Hello :)

A few notes from me for such a build:
- It would be easier if you checked the recommended hardware for the games that you would like to play and check similar options with comparable performance that are within your budget.
- About the memory, 8GB should suffice and a single 8GB stick may be a better choice compared to two 4GB ones as it can give you more room for upgrades down the road and be more budget-friendly.
- Regarding the storage, A SSD would give you very short boot times and great responsiveness to your system but when it comes to gaming the storage's performance affects only the loading times of the games so it shouldn't be a priority. The WD Blue drive that you have chosen should suffice for a good gaming PC.

The guys gave you some excellent advice so I'd look into that too!

Recommended hardware for Just Cause 3 is well beyond my budget, but that's really the only triple A game I want to run (I.e, no other high graphics games, really.). I currently have 2 4gb ram sticks in my computer and its more for the show of having 16gb. Still, that money may be better invested in a CPU.

The Hard drive that I have works fine, also could I keep windows 10 if I kept the hard drive, or have to buy it again? (also wouldn't have to redownload half a terabyte of games).

if you want to save money, you can find a used 2nd or 3rd gen i5/i7 and replace the psu if you have to(and if possible). the ssd might need a 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor to fit.

Maybe. I will probably go with i5 or a similar AMD processor in the end.

Gotcha, see you on the morrow. I wouldn't reuse the processor if I was you. Just the HDD. (And the SSD which you should be able to connect to the new motherboard / power supply).

Allrighty, thanks! The hard drive is perfectly fine, don't know why I thought about upgrading it.

Also, can anyone find what hard drive and RAM I am using? Didn't say on the product page I found. Or do all hard drives have the same connection? And ram?
