Recommended hardware for Just Cause 3 is well beyond my budget, but that's really the only triple A game I want to run (I.e, no other high graphics games, really.). I currently have 2 4gb ram sticks in my computer and its more for the show of having 16gb. Still, that money may be better invested in a CPU.

The Hard drive that I have works fine, also could I keep windows 10 if I kept the hard drive, or have to buy it again? (also wouldn't have to redownload half a terabyte of games).

Maybe. I will probably go with i5 or a similar AMD processor in the end.

Allrighty, thanks! The hard drive is perfectly fine, don't know why I thought about upgrading it.

Also, can anyone find what hard drive and RAM I am using? Didn't say on the product page I found. Or do all hard drives have the same connection? And ram?

Looking at pictures it looks like the drive will be compatible with any new build because of its connectors. And while newer hard drives are slightly faster, you won't notice the performance difference as long as you keep your operating system and any heavy games on your SSD (you should).

As for the RAM, there's a high chance you won't be able to use it. The new platforms utilize DDR4 memory, which is only compatible with Haswell-E, Skylake and the upcoming AM4 socket. If you're on an i3-6100 or i5-6400,6500 you'll have to use DDR4.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

OP, the FX 9590 is a pretty bad value. If you want to stay AMD, get a FX-8370 and overclock it. (You'll need better cooling for it though, at least a Dark Rock Slim or NH-U14S).

Oh, I cant use the ram? Oh well shouldn't be hard to find a new ram stick, probs 1x8 or something.

You can use it for the system you have in the OP, but please don't get a FX 9590, they're hot, power hungry chips that are less than 20% faster than a FX-8350. Just get the 8350 and overclock it.

$70 over at newegg. You don't have to use aftermarket cooling for it since it doesn't run hot at all, but It'd be fine to still keep the CM Hyper 212 because it will be pretty much silent.

I still think you should buy a 1080p monitor and a better graphics card. Your build in the OP has a lot of weaknesses. (Like the R7 360 which is a very weak graphics card)

Honestly, I don't need much, just something better than a 1gb DDR3 gpu, and a 2 core Intel i3. Ironically the motherboard you found was the same one I found after a quick search on partpicker. A monitor may be an upgrade I might do later on. Do you know any better GPUS for the price?

We don't have release date on the new cheap AMD cards, but they'll be coming at $150 and $100 and perform between 50% and 100% faster than today's $100 and $150 cards. I advise waiting (and on 720p you can wait alright)

Actually I found out that the motherboard up there isn't the right one. It supports low voltage DDR3 (which isn't compatible with the DDR3 you have right now), instead something that takes DDR4 http://pcpartpicker.com/product/cXvZxr/asrock-motherboard-b150mpro4s

The RX 480 will be about 25cm long and I expect the 470 to be about the same since it's based on the same chip. $50 more for the 480, and if you get it that will set you up for a monitor upgrade really well :)

Edit: It will fit into the case I recommended

Allrighto. On parts picker how do I pick the RX 480?

Since it's not available on the market yet (they launch June 29), you'll have to use a placeholder by clicking the Add Custom Part button at the very bottom. On part type choose Video Card, and punch in the announced price of $200.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Computer having a hard time powering on? Troubleshoot it with this guide. (Currently looking for suggestions to update it into the context of <current year> and make it its own thread)

Allright. There shouldn't be many compatibility issues with cases, etc right?

pcpartpicker will tell you whether your case is compatible, but just to be sure shoot me whichever case you want and I'll tell you.
