Hello everyone, i have an AMD FX-6300 Black Edition which i recently replaced the cooler of. The old cooler was stock, and under load the cpu got to 75oC, which from my research is higher than the recommended temperature. My new cooler, which i installed yesterday, is a Cooler Master Geminii m4 with arctic silver 5 as the thermal paste. Under load with the new cooler the cpu gets to 75oC or higher. Is there a way i can make the cpu temp stay below 60oC if at all possible, or at least below 70oC? Thank you for your time.

Did the thermal compound spread out well? Did you apply enough? The AMD CPUs are larger, so I recommend the line method...

Not the CPU, the IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader).

@PCGuy_5960 Ahah! I used a single dot. Should the line run left to right or top to bottom?

It doesn't matter... I prefer for top to bottom (I don't know why :P) . If you want to use the dot, you should make a big dot(This is how I got my thermal compound to spread on my FX-6100)

@PCGuy_5960 Thank you.

No problem. Just make sure that you clean the CPU and the Cooler properly with Isopropyl alcohol! It usually makes a difference...
