I am building a budget gaming pc with a $550 budget, and need to have wireless connectivity, which my asus H110M-A mobo doesn't have integrated. Will this $8 USB wireless adapter do the trick? I have very slow wifi speeds in my room (~3-8 mbps according to speedtest), and it says it goes up to 150mbps. I just want to do online gaming, web browsing, youtube videos, and the occasional skype call. Should I get this?

How far are you form your router, and what is service speed you are paying for?

My router is downstairs, and I am upstairs. I would say i am about 20 feet from the router. Idk what speed i am paying for (my dad pays for it, im not graduated), but i just retested and i get 20mbps.

Honestly, you will sometimes get packet loss on wireless. I had a $90 AC1900 PCIe based wifi card, a AC1250 USB wifi card, and they both had packet loss even with drivers and such installed. I even chose the networks through the utility. Just get a 25FT white flat Cat6 cable with adhesive cable fasteners along the top of the wall. In my case, I'm over 100ft from my router so I just called the internet company to move the modem and router upstairs. Connected a 5FT Cat7 Cable to it from my computer and I get an improvement of about 10ping and no packet loss. But hey, I might just get it from the distance
