Lately I've noticed my games freeze up a lot more often then i thought was possible.

I'dbe playing CSGO and every few rounds my game locks up so i open task manager and tab back in.

In all games it'll lock up for 30-60 seconds and resume just fine. Some times it'll blue screen me and i can't start my PC for 30 minutes without getting the error.

"Reboot and Select proper boot device"

I read rhat windows 10 had an issue with lowering the power to pciee so i turned the power saving features off but my peoblem persists.

TL;DR

-games lock up 30 seconds at a time

-not detectjng ssd on boot sometimes

-other day to day tasks work just fine

Useful info

-ssd is 2 years old? Whenever the 970 came out

-its a samsung 840 evo 500gb

-I've tried reinstalling Windows 10

-I never had less that 50gb free. Always gave it that amout to "breathe"

-never experienced slowdown. Just locking up.

Specs

i5 3570k Not overclocked

2x Gtx 970 sli

Sabertooth z87

Idk what other specs would make a difference

I have a 1Tb slave drive.

Disk usage spikes and maxes out for the time it is frozen.

scan your disk with crystaldiskinfo

i highly doubt anything is wrong with it

this seems like an issue with your windows installation

when you clean installed, did you unplug all other drives that arent your OS ssd?

did you delete all partitions on the SSD?

This is the results with samsung magician.

As for when I clean installed. I just used the reset feature built into windows 10 and when it asked, I chose to wipe all data. And I had both my ssd and hdd plugged in.

then yeah, you need to clean install

this time you need to unplug everything except for the SSD

and then you get to this screen, delete everything possible until you are only left with "unallocated space"

I unplugged my hdd and installed windows 10 on a usb. Went into my bios and used the flash drive to install windows 10. During setup i deleted all partitions until i was left with unallocated space. Set everything up. Got all my drivers. Still no cigar. Downloaded Cod4 and it locked up every so once in a while.
