Hello Everyone,

I just bought a new sound card for my system because my motherboard is quite old and I have a 5.1 channel system which I wanted to play actual 5.1 because I know before the rear signal was just a mimic of the front signal. But after I installed the newest driver and plugged everything in, the rear speaker are not working. The front, left, center and sub are working but the rear right and rear left is not. The funny thing is that the rear speakers work when I test the system via  windows and the sound card control panel but I have not found one program that uses them correctly. This includes chrome, system sounds and windows' films and tv player. Is there a solution to this because I really want them to work.

My System Specs:

- Intel Core i5 3470

- Nividia GTX 950

- Sound Card - Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX 5.1

- 5.1 Channel Logitech z506 speakers

- Dual channel of 8gb 1333 ram G-Skill (16gb all up)

- Samsung 850 evo 256gb boot SSD

- 3tb storage WD green hdd

- Main Display - Benq V400W

- Second Display - Samsung 2243bw

What do you use to connect it to your pc? I have the Z906 and you need to have the red, green and black cable connected (rear, front and subwoofer IIRC) for it to work.

UPDATE:

Just ran Beam NG Drive and that can use the 5.1 surround sound set-up but every other program cannot.

Well, for example youtube doesnt support surround, neither does a lot of other programs and websites. Most of the games nowadays support surround sound natively so try some other game and if it works correctly then there is no problem. If I want to watch for example youtube videos in 5.1 i need to enable "fake 3D" otherwise the sound is coming only from the two front speakers. I guess the Z506 doesnt have a fake 3D mode so everything will come directly as coded (2.0 from front speakers only, etc)

Its a button in the control panel in my speaker setup, it has 4 choices, "fake 3d", 4.1 (front speaker sounds copied to rear speakers),2.1 and direct sound ( what the pc outputs, be it 2.0, 2.1, 4.1 or 5.1. I guess its a feature thats only in the more expensive set. :/ I dont know what you could do, other than just use them as they are. So have you tried with any other games, do their sounds come in 5.1? or do they also come from the two front speakers only?
