i need to be able to output my pc sound to 2 headphones. i have tried using an amplified splitter but that causes noticable distortion and negatively affects my production. is there a way to output audio to multiple headphones any other way?

if not then is there a way to stop the distortion with my current method?

Have you tried using a passive splitter? If the headphones aren't too power hungry then it should work fine. The thing causing the distortion is most likely the amplification, so there's not much you can do about that. Why do you need two pairs of headphones though?

i have tried using a passive splitter but the audio is way too quiet for what i need (considering twice the headphones equals twice the power)

If your soundcard supports stereo mix then you can do it that way

if not then you need a better soundcard

You should be able to do so windows will send sound signal both to front jack and the jack on the mobo.
