Hi, I had posted a build that I wanted to make a while earlier, but I had to wait to get it and while I was waiting I rethought the build. The PC is for Graphic Design, Gaming (Iv'e been playing Minecraft, SimCity, BioShock Infinite, BO2 and BO3 and Rocket League and a couple Indie games all at the same time recently.)

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/3nhGXH
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/3nhGXH/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($219.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H5 Ultimate 76.0 CFM CPU Cooler  ($56.60 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($142.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($87.69 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($49.99 @ Amazon)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($78.10 @ Amazon)
Wireless Network Adapter: Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter
Total: $760.33

The GPU will probably be an RX 480 from MSI if there is one that is at least 6gb. I also actually need 16gb. for graphic design so I would not make that amount lower.

The only difference I made from my original build is going for a 6600K instead of a 6500. Getting the MSI Z150 Gaming M3 instead of the MSI B150 Gaming M3. Changing 16gb of HyperX ram for 16gb of Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM.

I would like to make it as cheap as possible without losing performance, Any suggestions? Thanks!

Graphic Design means more cores = good right? Would go for a 1231v3 over the 6600k then. Get a different PSU as well.

Okay here we go

CPU Cooler: WAY TOO MUCH. Get a 212 EVO, cools OC CPU's fine.

Mobo: MSI Z170 boards are riddles with problems (radiant heat from the GPU melts some of the board soldering, causing shorts are killing multiple components. Get a Asus Z170-A

RAM: Z170 can only use max of 2133. Get a kit of HyperX

Case: Coolermatser Mastercase 5 Pro

GPU: FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS MIGHTY GET A GTX 1080/70

PSU: Corsair AX760 Refurb (from Newegg, like 1/2 price)

No way in hell can a EVO cool a OC cpu dramatically, its a cheap cooler but does the job for MOST stock applications.

212 EVO is light OCing. Anything more and you want a beefier cooler.

If the Ram is a higher clock than what the mobo. supports, Ram will slow itself to meet the boards max/

Because a 1080/1070 will totally fit in his remaining budget of $250.

A refurbished or used PSU is never a good idea.

Its is factory refurbished.

That PSU is less than 1 month old, and returned to seller for whatever. It is then sent to Corsair's factory for a 73 point inspection, then certified y Corsair to be in mint-condition, and is sold for like 1/2 price

If a PSU needs to be refurbished in the first place, I wouldn't trust it. A new CX is technically in mint condition, doesn't mean it's any better.

The thing about the CM212Evo is that I hate the way it looks. Would the Cryorig h7 be better?

I'll get the Asus z170, but the reason I chose the MSI one  was because it was black/red. So i guess i'll get a white GPU and Case instead.

The Corsair RAM is cheaper than the HyperX (I honestly wish it wasn't, because I think HyperX ram looks sick). The Motherboard will just underclock the RAM right?

Cooler Master 5 Pro is too expensive. I can't spend more than $100 on a case (even that is a stretch). Im trying to save as much money as possible and I don't think the Mastercase will give me better temps.

OK, I'll get a 1070

I saw an argument about the PSU so i'll check that out before I respond to it

I don't think I do enough Graphic Design to justify a Xeon, but I will think about it. I do need to change PSU, I hear bad things about Corsair CX ones, and EVGA ones are the only cheap ones I have heard no bad things about.

Fair enough. And I ment get a better PSU. NEX is sub-par and not worth it's price.

It does support ram faster than 2133MHz.

I would take the MSI comment with a pinch of salt as well. I haven't heard of any issues with MSI boards.

Do you have a link for that MSI problem ? I haven't heard of any problems with MSI boards.

Also Z170 supports Ram much faster than 2133MHz.

The reason they are refurbished is people returned them to Newegg for reasons other than a product defect

And those reasons would be? What other reasons would people have to return a PSU, because the outside was scuffed?
