Hi guys,

So I'm gonna build a new pc soon (once the custom RX480 models launch) and I wanna hear your opinions.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  (€236.10 @ Amazon Deutschland)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG M9i 48.4 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASRock Z170A-X1/3.1 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  (€105.16 @ Mindfactory)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Elite 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2666 Memory  (€53.27 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Storage: Samsung 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (€69.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  (€47.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Case: NZXT S340 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case  (€79.72 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Power Supply: SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  (€80.85 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Other: rx480 (€250.00)
Total: €923.08
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-06-13 18:40 CEST+0200

Do note:

I live in the netherlands, and this is in euro's

Some of these parts like the ram, are pretty expensive in the pcpartpicker list, but are actually (in case of the ram) 15 euro's cheaper.

The grand total in dutch shops is 925 euro's

I'm certainly gonna get the rx480, since I already have a freesync monitor, and it seems like the best bang for the buck (even though there aren't benchmarks out yet)

I'm also going to overclock the i5 6600k.

The build is primarely for gaming on high/ultra settings at 1080p 60fps

Any recommendations, or any things you would change?

System: CPU - I5-6500 Motherboard - Asus B150M-A RAM - Crucial ballistix sport 2x4GB DDR4 @2400MHz GPU - RX 480 PSU - Seasonic S12II 520W Case - Aerocool Aero-800 HDD - Seagate 1TB SSD - PNY CS1311 120GB Monitor - AOC G2260VWQ6

a 6700 non k is going to perform the same as an overclocked i5 in games and if you factor in the cheaper motherboard and cooler its not really more expensive.

Oh god switch the SSD to a 850 EVO. The 750 is slower.

Otherwise I can't improve upon the build. It's very solid.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I don't really care about the slight speed difference. This 250GB 750 evo ssd is actually 5 euro's cheaper than the 120GB model of the 850 evo.

The cheapest 250GB 850 evo model is 90 euro's. That's a difference of 20 euro's for a small performance gain

Alrighty then. Solid build otherwise.

H110 with a K CPU is pointless.

His choice is quite good, specially if he's looking into overclocking a bit.

Ya but 8 threads at 4ghz turbo is going to beat 4 threads at probably 4.5ghz, depending upon the game of course, but DX12 will help push more thread usage, and really .5ghz isn't going to be too big a difference for standard gaming

I mean the non K version, the 6700K isn't really worth considering IMO compared to the 5820K at only a bit more cash, but the non K version turbos to 4ghz, so it's pretty fast and only has a 65W TDP, with a decent budget board you can run one no problem.

I'll just go with the i5 6600k. The difference is very slight, and the overall cost is cheaper than going with the more expensive i7 (even though you pay less for the motherboard. And even if I got the i7, I'd want it it have a different fan than the stock fan, cose those things are loud)

Also another question: Do I have to add a fan to the front of the case?

There are 2 fans included but they are at the back and the top for exhaust. No intake fans at all.

Am I going to run into any problems if I'm overclocking and the hot air is constantly cycling through the case?

If I have to add a fan to the front, any recommendations?
