Guys, im using uTorrent, and i have like 300 torrent files downloaded. Currently i'm seeding all of them, but after i shut my pc and turned it next day, uTorrent started to check all 300 torrent files one by one. This process takes way too long and is there any way to stop it from checking files and just to seed them directly ? Or is there any reason why this is happening to me?

Thanks for your help !

why do people still use utorrent? i gave up on it when they started to put *shady* advertisements baked into the UI.

EDIT: and before people kick and scream piracy: i used it to download .iso files for vareous linux distros, because some of them have just plain horrible download servers.

It happens to me too, for some reason uTorrent thinks it needs to revalidate files...

It is pretty much annoying , because of too many files.... Even i do not change directory or name of the torrent file. I wan't to avoid checking files somehow.

You can easily hide those Ads by typing some "commands" in settings.

but why if you can just go to a different torrent program that at least *tries* to be legit?

Which one for example ? I find uTorrent very light and nice program for downloading torrent files, i used Bitcomet before, which was eating my HDD speed and couldn't do anyhting.

I switched to qBittorrent as I got sick of the ads. It work pretty well from my experience. I do not think it rescan the files unless you force it.

This is my uTorrent. Don't you see any ads there? :D clean and smooth. I just need to solve this problem, but seems no one knows the solution here :(

I don't understand why people try to get you to other software...

µTorrent is fast, clean and doesn't take much memory (if it decides to not cause an invisible kernel memory leak).

Removed the ads, and it's the cleanest one I've seen. Only this rescanning can be very slow and annoying :/

... well... the fact that I decided to change because of pub is unrelated.

For example, if you say "I have a car with a manual transmission, and I want it to change the gear by itself", and I say "I had a pink manual car, I got sick of the color and changed it for an automatic. You should get an automatic instead it would solve your problem". Will you reply "Yes, but mine is not pink, I just want it to change gear by itself" or "Yes, getting an automatic car might be the solution".

I just gave you a solution, change to a software that work the way you want it to work.

... Because the software he is using is not behaving the way he want... Even if you can remove the pub, the fact that it rescan everything stay the same.

Give me one real advantage to use uTorrent and not qBittorrent.
