Hi,

I'm a first time builder and I'm currently trying to overclock my CPU. I'm using Asus Maximus VIII Hero for my mobo, i5 6600k CPU, and H100i GTX cooler.

Here's my problem.

After dailing in my overclocks, power limits etc. I've proceeded to save and restart my computer. Then, when I go into my bios again, the hardware monitor on the side is still indicating the normal clock speeds (3.5Ghz)

What is happening? What did I do incorrectly?

Thanks for your help. If you need images, more information, please tell me as I do want to fix this issue.

Side note: The save/restart function might be the issue, because when I've saved my windows boot manager as my 1st option to boot, my computer still goes into bios.

Updated.

your ratio on the right side of the bios screen is at 35x, which is 3500mhz (3.5ghz), so it is not overclocked. change your cpu ratio to 42x to overclock it to 4.2ghz and set Vcore voltage in the voltage settings to 1.25V
