I should be fine, right?

Long story short, im online, then i possible have clicked something and a blue screen pops up saying something like "Computer virus removal, call this number" and i might have shut down my pc because i could not click anywhere (rookie move). Now im back, looked up the problem, and it seems to be a scam, but the two parts that worry me are 1. i saved a file during shutdown. (dont know if a virus could have been contained by this) 2. it said the city i live in and possibly the provider im using.

 

Everything seems to be fine at the moment as well as Avast and Malwarebytes telling me its all clear, i should be fine, right?

If you scanned with both Avast and MWB, you're good.

 

Any website knows your general location and ISP, so that's not too concerning.

More than likely it was nothing more than a internet advertisement.

I have heard about a virus that did this, a YTuber reviewed this.

May I ask, did the "BSOD" Cover the whole screen or just the browser, and how did you turn the computer off? (Power button held for 5 secs, start up menu, alt-f4, win button -r shutdown -s or cmd?)

it was a new tab i think and i held the power button till a message popped up saying if i wanted to save my work on notepad, which i did, then continued to shut down (by then, the screen was gone).
