FOLDING WITH BETA Flag - ISSUES

Ok guys, I have tracked a problem occurring with users still running the "beta" flags as a client type.

 

My 780 was folding along merrily, everything looks ok for past few days - but, HFM started showing failed units. Sure enough, check the log, I have completed the WU but when I uploaded, the server is dumping the results, so I get no credit. This may explain why a lot of us seeing things looking ok, but getting no credit. 

 

When I check the log, I can see the WU complete, the upload to the server start and then this error:

 

9:10:52:WU00:FS00:Server responded WORK_QUIT (404)
19:10:52:WARNING:WU00:FS00:Server did not like results, dumping

 

So, you get ZERO points. This has actually been happening quite a lot on my 780.

I checked and sure enough, I was getting this "version .47" - which is bad. These are experimental ones. So, I tried shut down, delete the WU and get a new one. Same thing, got a .47. Tried changing to "advanced" - stuck getting .47. Dammit Jim!

 

So, I uninstalled, making sure I SELECT the remove data check. Then reinstalled. Set flag to advanced, and voila, now using a .49 :)

 

We shall see how this goes. 

 

Basically, anyone running with the BETA flag set, check and make sure you actually are getting credited. As you may not be and not even know it.

Notice - mine says version 0.0.49? That is good, and so is .46 - .47 is bad...

just checked and didn't find anything in that spot. the lines went from "digital signatures verified" to "completed..."

 

so I reinstalled with deleting all my data and now I see these two lines.

 

thanks for this @Whaler_99 , I've actually noticed my ppd lower than it was before so I guess this was the issue.

Yep - just completed and voila - next WU worked fine.

 

Technically speaking... there are "beta" core 17 projects circulating, but you are supposed to need a special key to get them - by being part of the beta team. Apparently these on even have some temp sensors in the core, etc, hence the weird message on mine. As well, the version 47 was busted and it shouldn't be given out period, but some are "stuck" I guess.
