What is better for gaming (CSGO,GTA 5,Dying Light) Stereo or 5.1 channel surround sound and what are the differences?

My memories of a corpse,mind full of sick thoughts.

Assuming GTA5 is great with surround sound: you put the 5 satellite speakers arround you. So one in the center front, one left front, one left back, one right back and one right front. When playing the game, you will be able to hear all the sounds from exactly the correct direction. In theory, you should be able to shoot at things blindfolded. With stereo, only left/right directions.
