Hows it hanging, I was wondering if I shoulld buy a GTX1070 or a 980 as the GTX 1070 is a hell of a lot more expensive than anticipated here in the UK sitting at £400-£450 where as a 980 is sitting at £350. Could anyone help plz?

1070 would be worth the extra dough from the benchmarks I'm reading. Hard to advise a Maxwell that isn't really competitively priced anymore.

the 1070 competes more with the Titan X / 980 Ti, rather than the 980.  See if you can find any of those on steep discount, since they should be with the 1070 coming.  Doesn't mean they will, but they should be...

Definitely go for the 1070.  Competes at a higher level then the 980 anyways.

Very disappointed in the 1070 price myself, but from the benchmarks I've seen it's still great value for the money in comparison to the 900 series. perhaps wait some months to see if the price drops a bit.

that kinda isn't an option sadly, recently sold my GTX 770 from gigabyte and am now stuck with an AMD R7700 from XFX and it is a terrible card, so by the start of July is the latest I am able to wait

Still us Europeans are being ripped off as the Americans can buy them for like $400 which is like £280, but we are paying £400 which is $570 close to the price of a 1080
