I have recently lost my TB HDD due to corrupt files and ordered a new 2TB Seagate Drive.
I want to recycle it but I don't my data being stolen. I looked up videos on how to do it but was never told what type of tool I need.

From the looks of the HDD it shows a 6 star screw. Anyone know what its called?

Hello :)

Safely wiping your data from a HDD doesn't really need you to take the drive apart. You can do that with a tool that can fill the drive with zeros. One example would be WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic.

Another way would be to run DiskPart from the CMD (if the drive doesn't contain your OS) and use Clean All to securely wipe the drive. Here's more info on that

Post back if you need other info!
