Here are my specs,

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 750K Quad Core Processor, 3400 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
GPU: AMD R9 200 Series

RAM: 2X 4GB Corsair Vengeance = 8 GB Total

OS: W10 Home

I want to really start playing CSGO like it was meant to be played, 144hz, so I ordered the good ol', BenQ 144hz 1080p 27 inch monitor, which is great, the only issue is is that my pc currently runs avg of 130 fps right now on low settings, So I want to order a GTX960 In hopes to bring it to 250+ FPS for a smoother experience, does this purchase make sense? And if so, do I need to worry about any bottle-necking/ choke-points? Thanks,

you shouldn't have to worry about bottleneck

So this makes sense to you? If you could explain more that would be great? It kind of concerns me that you used the word, "shouldn't" indicating that there still could be issues.

there might be very minimal bottleneck, nothing that will you to NOT get the 960

Though which r9 2xx card is it?

If its a r9 270 I would save your money and get a better processor

yea get a better processor instead of a graphics card, 270 is a good card, and you shouldn't be getting 130 fps on low on csgo

I have a i7 4790k and a r7 260x Nvidia equivilant is between a gtx 750/750 ti

I get 250-300 fps on lowest settings 1080p

My CPU is overclockable, should I try that? and if so how do I go about doing that? And if not, would you recommend any CPU?

Whats your powersupply and motherboard (for overclocking)

Some great CPU's would be an i5 4460, i5 6500, i5 6600k, i3 6100 (note 6xxx generation needs DDR4 RAM which means more money down the drain)

erm I wouldn't overclock

So how about you sell your cpu/motherboard/ or ram (combined with money you were going to buy the 960 with)

For new motherboard/cpu/ram?

What would be your budget??

im guessing ~$200 ??

I have $80 cash at the moment and am trying to sell some gropros for $500 and a gaming laptop for around $250, so pretty much whatever, I dont doubt I will upgrade my pc in the future once more, so something nice would be nice, but I also dont want to spend too much money where my hardware will never be used, plus I want to end up streaming/ recording videos to upload so a nice healthy CPU would be nice so ill give you around $250

No problem,

The reason i put two lists is they are two different architecture, you will get a smaller higher increase in performance with the 6500 build but It was over the $250 budget so, Im just giving you options

Get a 4690K.  It's about $40 more but oh so worth it.  Overclock that bitch to 4.6ghz and you won't have a problem running any game.

Wait for the drop in prices of Nvidia cards and pick yourself up a 970 or a 980 from the clearance bin.  You could wait a few weeks and see what the 1060 is all about.  If anything, it'll probably be a mid point between a 970 and 980.

I don't see that on PcPartPicker
