I have no idea if this is the right section of the forums or not (Sorry if it's not). Basically, about two months ago I bought a brand new Dell Inspiron 3847 Desktop. The desktop came with windows 8.1 but I upgraded to windows 10 (Not sure if this is relevant). About two weeks after I get a boot error saying "Hard-Disk-Drive Failure". Eventually, I figure out a way to get it to boot up by going into the BIOS and restarting without saving. After restarting without saving it booted up like nothing ever happened but now it happens every time I boot my desktop. I have to repeat my restart about 3-6 times before it boots. Also, if I put my computer to sleep when it wakes up it tells me "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE". I am still new to using a desktop so I don't know much about parts etc. Please let me know if you need any more information or if you know how I can fix this.

Hi there :) Welcome to the community!

What's the storage drive's brand and model? Do you have a full list of your computer parts? Posting them should be useful for the troubleshooting.

I'd recommend checking the raw values of the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive should give you a more precise information regarding the drive's condition.

I'd also try running chkdsk /r from the cmd to see if the system can find any problematic sectors.

Post back with some results or if you have questions!
