Budget: around 900, US

Aim: Introducing a 14 years old into the PC master race? Nothing too crazy, I don't imagine he will be doing any sort of over clocking any time soon. 1080p 60+ FPS on most of the games for the next 2 or 3 years should be good enough.

Monitor & Peripherals: Don't need any of that.

This is the list I have right now, having a little difficulty cutting down the price. Co-worker(Possible future boss) only want to buy parts from Amazon. I kind of want to stick with the GTX 970, Really like the STRIX, I have one myself. The fan not turning on is pretty sweet.

Convince your co-worker to get parts from other stores since the parts are cheaper in some stores compared to amazon. Wait for the rx 480 for $200 if possible and buy OS from kinguin/reddit for $20-30USD.

Since you had an unlocked motherboard and a cooler, I assume you want to OC, so I changed the CPU with an overclockable CPU

I selected cheaper Ram, you don't need high speed memory for gaming

The SSD I choose is about as fast as an 850 evo and alot cheaper

I replace the HDD with a cheaper HDD, HDDs are HDDs, all 3 manufactures make good HDDs.

I replaced the GPU with a R9 390 since it is faster than a GTX 970

I upgraded the PSU because the one you picked was very medicre.
