Wifi questions

So i am planing on getting a powernet, will that make a difference from plain wifi?

Also, can i just connect it directly to the wall or it has to be a router?

I have no idea what you're talking about so I'm going to guess its a wifi extender.  And they're pretty good for extending the range if you have a good network first.
