So I have been dying to build a gaming PC and now I have some time on my hands I finally have a chance. I have made a components list I am looking for feedback and tips. So please if you have a suggestion I am all ears.

Questions!

  • Why a I7-4770K? Why not a i7-6700K?
  • If you can wait, hold off on buying a video card.
  • Do you really need a BD drive? I'd suggest getting a portable one though if you really want one because it's more practical.
  • I dunno about that Spectre monitor. That's like the really budget brand. I'd say get something from LG or ASUS.

If this is a gaming PC, you can lose the hyperthreading of the i7. Make the switch to Skylake and DDR4 RAM. It would also be incredibly bad timing to buy a GTX 970, wait for the RX 480 and its benchmarks. Changed the monitor to an IPS one and given you a RMi for Corsair Link capabilities. Unnecessary so you can change it out if you want but always a nice feature to have if you're anal on having a quiet rig:
