Hello,

This morning I was given a 2007 Apple aluminum keyboard with two USB Port hub because my mother's work was throwing it out because it was broken. She figured I'd be able to fix it.

At first there didn't seem to be a problem but then I noticed that when I press the 'a' key it types 'a;' every time, which was weird. What was weirder is that when I pressed the ; key it outputted "a;" as well. Then I found out that when I press q it presses "qp" and when I press z it presses "z/" every time as well. After some further testing I found out that when I press the opposite keys on the keyboard (for example ; instead of A) it outputted the same thing.

So basically when I press:
a = a;

; = a;

q = qp

p = qp

z = z/

/ = z/

So basically I'm wondering if any of you have any idea how to fix it - I personally am pretty sure it's a hardware issue but these keyboards aren't servicable at all - there's not one single screw or anything to open the thing up. I have tried software solutions, however and I've found that no matter what I specify each corresponding key to it does the same thing with the new keys.

Here's an example of what's happening using a keyboard tester:

I only pressed the a key, nothing else. Notice how it also highlights the ; key - which suggests to me that it is physically actuating the ; key and a key together.

I would appreciate anything you guys suggest, thanks.
