Please don't get a CX PSU.

But yes, just glancing at it, those parts should work.

Stick it on PC part picker to be sure

These parts are completely compatible, but a few things to keep in mind.

Z97 is a board that supports overclocking. i5-4590 is a chip that does not support overclocking. Find a chip with a K at the end of its name, such as 4770k in order to overclock, OR consider getting a different board.

As far as not wanting to waste money, a lot of these parts are outdated or belong to previous generations. You can likely get better performance out of a similarly priced system, or much better performance if you're willing to pay a slight amount more if you get more recent stuff (especially your GPU).

However, if you're dead set on getting these items, they ARE 100% compatible with each other.

This parts do work with each other indeed, however I don't think money is spent wisely.

The GPU is the part where you want to spend most of the budget, Get an i5 6500 + cheap H110 motherboard. and get at least a R9 380 GPU.

TBH it's best to wait a little for the GPU, new releases are coming very soon.

So what i'm seeing is look into better GPU's such as the R9 380, a better power supply, and a CPU that can overclock?

Keep in mind that 4xxx CPUs are from the previous gen, they still kick ass, but you might want to look into the new (latest) generation, which is Skylake. It supports DDR4 as well as a couple minor new features, including a bit better performance and less power consumption. This is the reason I suggested the i5 6500 and the H110 motherboard (which are socket 1151).

At the end of June we should see the RX 480 appear on the shelves. It should deliver much more performance in theory. (for $199).
