I am more of a cpu overclock kind of guy just wanted at least 1ghz on my gpu.

Yeah you can find a modded MSI AB or TriXX where you have unlimited clock/Vram speed options and very high voltage settings. Almost 2V on some of them. I was able to push my 7870 to a stable 1412MHz with 1.5V, but I was starting to freeze so I had to close my window... Then for fun managed to push the 3D clock to 5GHz (bahaha), good thing I never left 2D mode while I was screwing around.
