Looking for a monitor to compliment my first PC build. From other forum posts, I've gathered that given my graphics card, Sapphire Radeon R9 390, it would be very beneficial to buy a monitor with FreeSync capabilities to avoid choppy gameplay or broken frames. I'm looking to spend around $150 for it but will go to a max of $200. Based on videos I've watched, IPS panel monitors have better angle viewing and colors which can enhance gameplay. I have been unable to find a monitor with FreeSync and an IPS panel that fits into my budget. Are there any monitors like this out there? If not, is IPS really a necessity or will a TN panel be okay for 1080p gaming? Also I'd like to be able to hook up my monitor to my laptop occasionally or to other devices via HDMI so having both an HDMI port and a display port would be great. Briefly searching online I found some adapters that might help me work around this if the monitor only has a display port. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

You'll want to wait for this LG one then
LG 23MP68VQ-P | LG Electronics UK

It's 1080p IPS 75Hz with free-sync over HDMI

but it's only in the UK for now, should be like $130 ish

did you already buy the 390? because the RX 480 will be out shortly and is a better choice overall

1080p 144hz TN display, it really isn't too bad given that you get 144hz with it, this one is $209 on sale atm

Forgot to mention that I did find that Samsung monitor in my recent search. Unfortunately I have an iPhone and wouldnt be able to use that feature. If this is the only monitor that can meet all my criteria then I guess I can go with this one and just ignore the charger. Thanks for the quick response though.

That samsung display is pretty overpriced I'd say, given that you can get 1080p 60Hz IPS displays for around $100

this one even has VESA compatibility
