Razer Deathadder Scroll Wheel

Vercii

My scroll wheel just suddenly stopped working and I can feel it being loose. Is there anyway to fix?

You can open the bottom of the mouse using a small Philips (star) screwdriver. Two screws are hidden under the two top slidepads, and one is under the big sticker with the model number and all that.

Be careful when removing the slidepads, as they are made of multiple layers. You want to carefully remove the deepest layer using something like a flat head screwdriver (it's a glue pad, so you want to keep it in one piece as much as possible). The screw under the sticker is easier to reach, you just need to feel the bottom of the mouse with your fingers until you reach a point where there's a hole below the sticker (the screw is rather deep in the hole), and punch through with your screwdriver.

Once you have all the screws off, the top shell will come off if you pull on it (it's held with plastic clips). Once that's done, you'll see the scrollwheel mechanism, and depending on the problem, you can try to adjust it or make it "click" again.

Then you just put everything back together :P

I'll add some pictures of when I repaired mine, if you want.

I've taken it apart and have it open. The problem is the actual scrolling, it doesn't scroll at all but it does click. I looked at the white thing inside the scroll wheel (sorry i can't think right now on what it's called) but I don't really see a problem.

I meant that there's something that gives a resistance to the scroll wheel, making it click into place (like, it has segments). Make sure there's contact between that and the wheel axle, if it's still loose. It's in the little box near the left click switch.

Well I spent like the last 30 minutes fiddling with it and I cannot seem to find the problem. Would some pictures help?

That's weird, mine doesn't have a plastic cap on the scrollwheel box. Do you have the 2013 normal or the Chroma version?

Here, I have found a guide for the older version of the mouse. You don't have to take the motherboard apart for the 2013 version though.
