Bad Malware Cases?

I'm looking into doing particular events for a project I have to do for a class. What got me thinking of this was the bitcoin mining script incorporated in an esea client. I wasn't sure if there were any cases of malware that were really bad that would be fun to write about. Thanks guys ^_^
