5GHZ wifi connected but no Internet

Hi All,

I bought a new router a few weeks back and its a dual band router. It has 2.4 and 5 GHZ connectivity. I can connect to 2.4 just fine with any device I have. 5 GHZ however, I can connect to using my Note 5 but I am unable to surf the web afterwards. Is there a specific configuration do I need to have or maybe a specific channel?

I tried switching channels and trying again but all the available channels produced the same outcome.

We need some more information, though the first thought is a ip issue

Can other devices access the internet from the 5ghz band?

Do you use static ip?

Was the device previously on the 2.4?

Are the ssid/names different?

You might try simply resetting the stored IPs or deleting the ip associated with the note in the router and restarting it as well as "forgetting" the wifi in the note.

- I don't have other devices that can connect to 5GHZ at the moment.

- I don't use static IP.

- Yes, I had it on 2.4 and switched to 5GHZ. Also I tried to disable WiFi and retry with 5GHZ, same outcome.

- SSID for 2.4 and 5 GHZ are as follows NETGEAR07, NETGEAR07-5G respectively.

- I did try make it forget both and then tried to connect 5GHZ first. Same result sadly.
