Where are the 1070s to prevent order? I can't find them anywhere. 

But it seems hart to justify a $200 gpu if you are going to be buying a $600-800 headset

With how VR Works for now, basically when you hit the minimum frame rate the experience is the same (i.e. you either have enough power to run it or you don't) if the RX 480 benches high enough for VR it make the 1070 a really hard sell.  Spending extra money (for VR anyway) for no real reason beside brand loyalty.

 

Obviously that is a bit over simplified, if you can fit a faster card in your budget why not, but for a lot of us after spending $600 on a headset there isn't a lot left over for a GPU upgrade.

I personally think this VR shit will be a fad.

Not many people have a spare room to turn it into a VR lair.

The Wii became a hit because it only cost $200.  After about 2 years they sat in a box in people's garage.  However, a somewhat beefy PC with $800 VR gear is harder to swallow.

Good joke. The Wii out sold the Xbox and the PS3 for 7 years straight. VR has also been around since the 80s. This is no fad it is the future. Same with AR, go look at Hololens and how doctors are using it. VR is just getting started that is why it costs so much. Give it some time, 4 years and you will own one I guarantee it

You can pre order them at Canada computers in Canada and maybe NCIX. I already got a vive as a gift, didn't come yet... I also want to play this game when it comes out in 2017. Also preparing for battlefield 1.
