So I'm building a basic inexpensive web browsing PC that will be for browsing the web and low graphic games like minecraft. I'm going to be running 64 bit linux on it too.

All parts marked as purchased are parts I already have sitting in my room waiting to be put into a machine or are currently being shipped.

I don't even think you'll need an aftermarket CPU cooler tbh. Unless you just want to overclock your cpu a bit :P

4 gb ram would be enough for your usage aswell. You can also get a usb flash drive for windows and install it through there that means you don't need a dvd/cd writer or you want to burn and use CD's/dvd's.

the 4gb stick of ram is just a temporary thing until I can upgrade to the 8gb sticks with the heatsyncs and when I upgrade to the 8gb sticks I'll move the 4gb Avexir stick into a different machine and the dvd drive is so I can pop a movie in the machine since the machine is going to be sitting in my room also I might be overclocking the pentium a bit the motherboard I have does support overclocking

seems like a good build for your needs, you could go see if you can get a steal on some used GPUs too, not sure what would be the best choice to look for but take a look at what you can get

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.
