Looking for saver virtual networking (teamviewer alternative)

Octavialicious

Hey all, right now I'm in a bit of a dilemma. Essentially, I set up a PC in the closet to do various things for me. The setup I have right now is super sweet, I turn on the PC and type in 123 and I'm logged in and can do the rest from team viewer on my main computer. I have no monitor hooked up, so that's why the ease of login is so important

I'm happy with the setup how it is, but I hear teamviewer is super unsafe. What other options do I have? Don't really want to spend any cash, and being able to easily access the computer with a password and no interaction on the other PC (due to no monitor) is critical. So far Windows Remote Desktop hasn't worked

Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

Hasn't worked so far, and do I need to click "allow" or anything on the other PC?

I'm not sure why it's working, I have it allowed on both pcs

I saw TV got hacked itself, but was your PC itself actually being remote controlled by someone else?

You need a PRO version of windows to remote desktop into a pc. It doesn't work on home versions.

Turns out they added super good security features! To log into my computer you NEED to be logged into a specific account, and to log into my account you need an authenticator code only available on my phone. For now I'm going to roll with it and see what happens. Thanks for the help!

I also used to use Team Viewer a lot, but even with the added security measures I chose not to use it anymore.

I am now using AnyDesk, It seems to be really solid, give it a try if you're interested ;)

Could it auto start? Do i need to do anything on the desktop in the closet like click accept?

Yes and no.

After the initial configuration of the software, and after you setup the password for unattended access, you don't have to do anything else.

Anydesk by default start's with windows. You don't even have to login to windows, you can connect with Anydesk before that :)
