GTX 1080 or GTX 1070

i honestly don't know why I asked this question. I am gonna upgrade my GPU, and I don't want some bargain brand AMD or a second 970, especially since I'm selling the one I have. All I am asking is will the 1080 really beat the 1070 for future proofing if I am staying at 1080p?

NO IT WON'T!! an NONE of these GPU's will render modern games handily in 6 years from now...even at 1080p

okay so should I just get the 1070 or 1080. I don't about the price but I don't want to spend money unless there is a significant benefit.

I want to get something this summer. Or else I would have waited for Zen, but I got skylake instead.
