With the new GTX 1070, 1080, and AMD's RX 480, I would like to get a dive on upgrading.

I am currently running a GTX 750ti and I would like to upgrade to either a RX 480 or a GTX 1070. I am trying to keep the budget around $400.

The question I have is, should I get the GTX 1070 as a single card or get the RX 480 and Crossfire 2 of them. Which one would be bether in the long run and why?

Thanks.

at this point its too soon to tell. It's best to wait for the third-party reviews of the Rx480 before deciding

I would say single 480 then next year buy the new $200 card that will probably be equivalent to the 1070 and sell the old one so in a year you have 1070 performance + cash and in the meantime a 480 is no slouch.

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

I am trying to max out 1080p gaming as much as possible. From the photos, two 480s beat the 1080.

gtx 970 will do that, this card should be faster and cheaper than that.

The benchmarks show 2x RX 480's at <$500 beating the GTX 1080 at $600. I don't know. I have never experimented with SLI or Crossfire. I know that the GTX 1070 and 80 are both more powerful that the Titan X. I just want the best value for performance. That being the 1070 or 2x 480s.

I know it's really soon to tell, however for other people that have done SLI/Crossfire, does it actually help in performance in games?
