4k gaming help

Hi everyone..! I have this problem, a few years ago i bought a 4k gaming monitor XB280hk from acer. six month ago i had it with a pair of 970s in SLi and i could played most games very well on 4k  medium/high settings without AA. Unfortunately i had to sell that gpu configuration and my cpu. know i have a i3 4160 with a asus rog hero vii and 16gb of ddr 3 1600mhz with a r9 290 reference. i am selling the 290 and i want to buy a new gpu. i have read som review of the 1080 and 1070. i happening almost with the 900 series two x70 are better than x80, so the question is the next one.!!!

the 1070 is like a 980 ti. but the 980 ti with oc its almost like a 1080 stock. for my personal situacion the 980 ti is going down prize. what will should be the best gpu to buy? a single 1070 and in the future a second one or a single 980 ti and in the future the 2nd one..?

 

Note i have a Corsair rm750i 750w 80 plus gold, will support a 980 tis sli? will i hvae bottleneck with the cpu?

Single card till you can bump to a quad core I would say for many modern games.

 

Personally I'd try to hold out till prices settle... if you can hold out a few months as the lines fill out both up and down for both sides you'll also have better choice and possibly lower prices.

 

a 290 is a damn good card and my guess is that in many situations the chip already holds it back

(monitor the usage of cpu and gpu while gaming to figure it out)

 

By then maybe you could afford a cpu bump too. and get all the benefit together for a nice performance boost.

 

Just an option.

 

Otherwise, I would say go with the newer card unless the older is significantly cheaper in like for like performance. Just the power draw on a sli system will eventually make up the difference, not to mention getting a warranty for the full term and better support for new features etc etc etc

get a 6-core i7 and two 1080s...

If you are okay with used, 980Ti SLI can most likely be snatched to the price of a 1080. Might even get water blocks as well, if that interests you.

As for power, that depends on what else you have on it, but I would still go for a 1000W one, so you can overclock and not limit what else you put in.

many thanks for respongin so fast, i will get an 4670 o 4690k cpu, i think it will be enough for mutil gpus gaming. i had an 4790k and it was waste of money. abotu de psu i would rathewr not change it. becasue here in my country they are very expensive.

the 290 is very well to play 2k games.

 

buy i want to play 4k with gsync.
