Remote Call Procedure Failed, Windows 10.

Go to solution Solved by Conflix,

To anyone reading this thread, my problem has been solved.

Well, after about two months of not being able to use windows app store, calculator, news, photos, videos, the problem has been solved.

How?

Around the beginning of the problem 2 months ago, I deleted a file somewhere in the windows power-shell folder as a fix for the problem that I found online, this did not work. However I believe it influenced the solution because today the Windows 10 Anniversary update began an when it was over, I found that Windows Apps finally worked again!

How can you achieve this?

I do not recommend deleting the file and can not help you figure out which one it was anyway because I forget, so I guess all you can do is wait for a major update or contact Microsoft for assistance. I have never dealt with Microsoft so I don't know how good their support is but I'm sure they could send you a file to reinstall the Windows App Store?

Just my luck, I have to post two threads asking for help in one day, even with much research on the subjects. At least my other problem just got fixed.

To start off, one day I clicked a photo that was sent to me in a Skype call. I clicked on it and I got the error message "Remote Call Procedure Failed" it was a bit annoying, but then when I tried any photo or video on my PC, the same thing happened. At the same time, I was unable to open the Windows news or App Store. The App Store gives the "Remote Call Procedure Failed" error but the news doesn't

I fixed the problem with the photos by simply setting them to open with paint, but I had to do this for all types of picture files. For the videos I used Media Player. Still no fix for the news and app store.

I decided that these problems are all linked together, they are all windows apps because the default program for opening videos and photos are windows apps. Not all of my windows apps are affected which confuses me.

My current fix works, but I still cant open the app store or see the news, and I would prefer to open photos with the photo app. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Malware Bytes Free concludes that it is not virus related. (I hope)
