Hi guys.

I recently posted asking for some help on my new build and I came to a conclusion on the system I will be going with. Now my girlfriend is wanting a Console Sized Gaming PC and I am needing some help with planning the system. She will be gaming at 1080p.

She will not be needing any peripherals or an Operating System, She just needs the systems itself.

Budget

She has a budget of £1200 GBP.

Case

The case she is wanting to go with is the Silverstone RVZ02B but she is willing to go with another case if there is a better one available.

GPU

As for the GPU she is wanting to go with one of the new Pascal GPU's.

As for the rest of the system she is unsure of what would be best to use in the system.

If someone could put together a system on http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/

I look forward to seeing some awesome builds :)

@StevenGibson1994, here's what I've come up with. There's still more than enough room in the budget for a GTX 1070, which will be great for 1080p and allow an upgrade to 1440p with no issues.

Just some information, PCPP does not show scan.co.uk prices, which after looking manually is mostly cheaper than everywhere else other than a few parts on eBuyer. So with these builds you will have to manually search on scan for the best price. (usually £100 cheaper than OCUK, £50 than amazon and £30 from other resellers)

I also swear this is not an ad, I just dont understand why PCPP hasn't added scan back.

Ok that's fine, will the PSU be more than enough for even a GTX 1080?

I don't see this type of system with a GTX 1080 using over 500W. If you do decide you want extra headroom, however, you can easily swap that PSU for the 600W version of the same model for £30 more, if you wish :)

I probably wouldn't purchase the 1080, does not seem cost effective, even years down the line. Hell you can just spend the £200 on a nice monitor with the difference in getting a 1070

Also this build looks very good, not a part I can fault.

Ok so the 500w should be fine even with a GTX 1080. Also would the CPU cooler the best option or is there a better one?

This is an example of what you can build... you might even fit in a 1080 if you wanted.. you have way more budget than you need..

I'd suggest the below with an i5 and a 480 (if given good reviews)

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/cdhCm8

Obviously you can swap parts as needed for price/availability at scan if it's cheaper.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

I would yet again recommend not to go with the gtx 1080, and noctua make some of the best coolers so i think for that size of case you would find it hard to find a better one

What is the 480? and I think I will go with the i5 CPU

So would you recommend going with a 1070 rather than a 1080?

RX480, new mid range gpu from AMD due at the end of the month... there should also be a release from Nvidia in the near future for the 1060 too, depending how fast you need it, it could be worth waiting at least a bit for the 480.

for 1920x1080, a 1070 is way overkill never-mind a 1080. They are for 1440 and 4k respectively.

Computers (especially processors and GPU's) are very power efficient these days, 500w is enough for dual mid range cards and cpu easily. Which you can't do without changing the case and board anyway.

Due to the console form factor there isn't much room for a tower cooler. Noctua makes great CPU coolers so the NHL9i should be fine for this CPU, even for a mild overclock.

In that form factor and for 1080p, there is no reason to oc.

OP, even a stock cooler is fine, the other options should just reduce a bit of noise and temps... You could oc, but there is no need.

Where can I put a Mechanical Hard Drive in this build is there a slot for it?
