Replace the 970 with a 1070

I understand that the case is extremely pricey compared to the rest of my build all of my current items in this build is good enough for me, as in it is maxed out for what I will be doing. I don't edit, and I all I enjoy doing is watching videos and some gaming at triple A titles. Any changes that I need to make? Opinions? Thoughts?

One question, should I change the Gigabyte z170 with an ASUS z170-A or is it not worth it?

Thanks :)

Switched PSU to a great quality model, added fast memory, added a much better CPU cooler (so you won't have to fight with thermals and noise), switched the SSD to my typical recommendation of SP550.

I don't blame you on the Evolv ATX. It's a damn fine looking case.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

personally i prefer the gigabyte board over the asus one. it has 1 more m.2 slot and asus isnt exactly known for their customer service. you should swap the ssd for a mushkin eco3 which is faster than your current ssd. pcpartpicker lists the nzxt hue+ as not compatible, so you might want to check that. everything else looks fine.

one thing though is get your cpu from b&h. it has no tax (except in ny i think), so it end up being cheaper than superbiiz

Thanks. I live in Taiwan so I'm getting the parts locally, so the price of the entire build will be slightly more expnesive that it is listed, but I'm confident in the fact that I should be able to find all the parts that I want once the 1070 comes out. Thanks :)

Would waiting for a potential RX 490 be better than just jumping for a 1070?

ehhh, if you can wait that long then go ahead. but personally, i'd just get the 1070. you could always sell the 1070 after if you want.

For all the builds with i5 6600k's in them, I believe that you should swap them with an Intel Xeon 1231 v3 processor. This processor has the value of an i5 processor, but performs as if you have an i7 4790k, including hyperthreading, which is always good :)
