I used to run triple monitors, I had 3 of the exact same monitor and i was buggy as hell. When you go and throw in different resolutions and refresh rates the bugs and glitches are only going to get worse. I know JayzTwoCents for a while ran 3 very different monitors in surround, perhaps he made a video. Youre best off using the main one for gaming and the sides for multitasking

Are you connecting all the monitors to the same GPU? Are you using display port on all three? The resolution will definitely scale off a little, but your refresh rate can only run at the lowest hz available. So 60 hz is what you need to be set on.

What kind of issue are you running into as far as where in the setup process can you get to vs where is it not showing up?

Dvi, hdmi and DisplayPort

I no they will only run at 60hz

when I come to pick the monitors my 1440p comes up and says all displays must have one common timing !?

Even tho there all set at 1080p 60hz

is it because there all off of different connections ?

yes. Your 980 ti should have 3 display ports. Use them. I ran into the same issue when I tried to use my DVI-D cables mixed with 1 display port. Once I went with three display ports I no longer had any issues.

I personally have had never ending trouble using different ports with Surround and Eyefinity.

I had to try three different video cards before I found one that would take 3x 1080p HDMI only monitors, using 2x DVI ports with adapters and 1x HDMI port.

When I pick a video card that has 3x Display Ports and 3 monitors with Display Port, it works every time, all the time.

Full Disclosure, I have three different Surround/Eyefinity setups, one running on a R9 390, one running on a GTX 980 TI, and one running on a GTX 970.

I have spent way too many hours messing with this, and yes, if I had it to do over again, I'd be really tempted to do 1x 34" Ultrawide and be done with it. :)

At the office, I finally stopped bothering and just setup multi-monitor as standard because it was so flaky on the R9 390.

Can* be across multiple cards for 3 way surround to my understanding. May need HDMI to Display Port cable / adapter.
