I have never built or change any parts in a computer before and I would really like some answers before I order an Intel CPU.  Thank you for looking over this, and sorry if this isn't the right place:/

In order to change your cpu you need to change your motherboard too

Will there be any cheap way to do this?

I'm working on that. I mainly play Arma 3, and that is a very CPU hogging game.

The real only way is to save up a little bit more and buy a new motherboard. Depending on what you want to do, you can shop around and look for different chipsets to see which is best for your budget

Also what you posted for specs is fine, I always recommend using the program speccy, its much easier to read

what is your budget?

I did use speccy, and my budget is $400-$450 I just want to upgrade CPU, new monitor, new SSD, and a PCI Wireless Internet Adapter.

You have to get a H81/B85/H97 motherboard to use that Intel CPU. Not an option to stay with your current one.

What about

  • Intel Z97
  • Intel Z87

  • Intel Q87

  • Intel C222
  • Intel C224
  • Intel C226

Z series is for overclocking which you will need to overclock (ignore what I said earlier, though you didn't choose the K version), Q is for business people and C is for server applications.

@Drunk_KlausWell with the un-k cpu i suggested after the initial math you could go 25 dollars more over budget and get https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-2133MHz-Non-ECC-HX421C14FBK2-16/dp/B00TY6A1LY/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1464824606&sr=1-3&keywords=ddr4

heres what i've got for you if you skip the SSD upgrade

sure they do, but the one you suggested doesn't support it

I am confused, I am sorry. Do I get a different motherboard instead? What would be the best solution out of the two?

I updated my other post with a motherboard that supports DDR3 and the 6600k, better than the other build I posted actually if you don't plan on overclocking

@daltonk01 the 6600 would be cheaper if your not overclocking (non-k)

Ok, that's good, I have no intention of over clocking.
