Hi,

I am in need of a small portable and cheap office computer. I had a look at the Intel Compute stick, but the reviews don't seem to be very good. What would you recommend?

Usually, Office will be used on it with some data analysis software (such as MAXQDA).

I am located in the United Kingdom.

Thank you very much!

have you looked into things like this

http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-cubi-003bus-intel-celeron-44-115080.htm

i wouldn't suggest getting that on specifically, but that type of build.  THey are small, some can connect to back of monitors via VESA, and are more powerful than those intel computer sticks.

revsilverspine's suggestions are very good if you don't intend building your own. Alternatively, you can buy a mini ITX motherboard with a Celeron J1900, some ram, an hard drive (or SSD) and a Cooler Master Mini 110. Be aware that the fans (PSU and case) are very noisy, though.
