Its taken me a very very long time to save up for this build, I really cannot afford the 1080 haha!

Then get the gtx 1070, still beats it,  cheaper

with the saved money buy a beefier cooler like a 240mm rad

It's almost the same price ($600, NOT the founders edition), and it's really worth it (look at the benchmarks, it's almost twice as good).

Going for a GTX 980 or 980ti is just silly as of today.

Hmm well I suppose thats a point. Its just I've been waiting so long to finally be able to afford my build. How long do you think it will be before companies such as MSI will release better versions of the new cards though?

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

You won't need 1000W even for SLI. A 750W would be fine. Also if you are going for a Corsair unit, then go with the newer RMx/RMi.

I think you should buy a pcie ssd instead of sata. at least 850 PRO, not evo..

Are the pcie ones more expensive? I'm worried about the room in my case too... I would like to SLI one day in the far future and I have a pcie wireless card as well

The 212 Evo is a decent enough cooler. Unless he is going for a major overclock then it will be fine.

I recommend something bigger to anyone not constrained by budget because by experience, the EVO can run cool or quiet but not both.

Wow really, are you sure? It would be nice to SLI in the future and I was panicking about having enough watts. So the RM1000 I was going to go for is about £130 but I could get a RM850x for £105 or a RM850i for £115...what do you think? I would like to be on the safe side for future-proofing reasons and actually, the 850w are no more expensive than the 750w or even cheaper in some cases! So I'm happy to change it to a 850x or 850i if you're sure its enough!

The NH-D14/15 is too ugly! haha! I'm planning on starting with the 212 Evo since its less than £30 and I won't be overclocking to begin with since its my first PC and I wanna be safe, or at least not much anyway! Liquid cooling is something I'd consider in the future such as the Corsair H110i but I'm a bit paranoid of leaking at the moment.

Alright, the EVO will work. Happy building!

Quieter than a Phanteks PH-TC14PE which is a high end air cooler.

And 8 degrees hotter. The Phanteks wins out on cooling / noise.

I would go with the RMx unless you want the quieter fan that the RMi has. If you look at the review below of the GTX 1070 founders edition you can see that the power consumption is 161W. Go for 850W if you want, but you would be fine with 750W.
