im looking for a new display, but im not sure weather I should get a 21:9 and get rid of my 27"
or get something like a 24" 4k display
it needs to be color accurate (ips / pls please...)   and if possible : portrait rotation for me coding skills
I currently have a gtx 780 so idk if it can handle the 21:9 gaming at 60... and im not upgrading this year for sure. (unless I get angry and decide to get myself the next titan whatever or something..)

I do a lot of photoshop / illustrator / any adobe product work + unity5.

soooooooooo yeah.  what monitor should I get ? (any suggestions ?)

It's mostly personal preference. I don't like widescreen monitors so I wouldn't tell you to get one but someone else might. If you're not upgrading this year than I wouldn't even look at monitors at this point as price points will change over a 6 month period. I don't know how well a 780 would be able to handle 4k gaming, though.

Yeah, It was just a black backgrounded text w/ white letters, nothing to worry about tho

Well, with that in mind, I would get a second monitor. Of course it depends on your space and the configuration you have in mind, but those are my thoughts.

Well I have never gotten an extravagant monitor like 4k or 21:9, so I might not be the right one to give my opinion.

I would agree with this post:

Especially the part with personal preference.

I would weigh it out:

4k

+ More detail

+ Edit with greater precision and resolution

- hard(er)to drive for gaming

21:9

+ More space for multiple windows or a bigger work area in your programs

+ Easier to drive than 4k (Unless its resolution is bigger, Idk what resolution you want)

- Less detail
